How to Stay Motivated Every Day!

As we all know, in order to be successful in any area of life we must be motivated and be able to stay motivated. This is not always easy with the every day ups and downs in life.

Below are some tips for becoming motivated and maintaining that motivation over the long haul:

Keep Your Goals in Front of you Daily:

Write down your goals in each area – Body, Mind and Spirit.  Also, write the reasons you want to achieve these goals. Visualize the outcome and how you will feel when you have reached your goals. Review and visualize this list in the morning and before you to go sleep. This practice is essential in keeping your goals firmly in mind every day.

Choose a Daily Routine and Get More Difficult Activities Completed First:

Write down a daily routine and get the hardest tasks done at the beginning of the day if possible. When you do this, and stick with it, you build momentum and pride in yourself, and you steadily steer yourself to success.

Every morning before doing anything else, I exercise. I have tried exercising when I get home from work, but I do not always follow through. I don’t know about you, but exercise is not my favorite part of the day unless I’m going on a hike or kayaking or something fun. Since this is something I don’t really enjoy, it goes at the top of my list each day, and I get it over with. This helps me to start off on a positive note every morning.

Surround Yourself with Encouragement, Positivity and Motivational Material:

Every morning I start my day off listening to motivational material. I love Audible, and I often listen to motivational audio books even if it’s just for 20 or 30 minutes while I am exercising.  I also watch a lot of motivational YouTube videos. There are so many to choose from and when you find a motivator you like, you can subscribe to their channel for free.

Also, you can add small motivational reminders that you’ll see throughout the day. This can be sticky notes in your car, in a binder at work or as a screen saver on your computer. Get creative and make it so that you are repeatedly being uplifted throughout your day.

Be Grateful for Everything you Already Have! 

Keep a gratitude journal and write down several things you are grateful for each day. I write at least 30 each day. This can be people, experiences, your health, things you learn, items that you use, your job, nature, your pets etc. In this way, you are not only focusing on becoming, but you are also focused on all that you already are and all that you already have that is good in your life. Remember to be grateful that you are the type of person who strives to be your best!

Take it One Day at a Time! 

Success won’t happen overnight when you are working towards a long-term goal. You are in the process of learning, growing and changing, and you cannot expect yourself to be perfect, but you can steadily make progress. Build up excitement for each new day using the above techniques, and you will be well on your way to staying motivated every day.
