The Power of Music

(I may earn money or products from the companies mentioned in this post. I only recommend products that I love and use personally or products that my friends or family highly recommend.)

So you might be thinking, “What can music do to help me become my best?” Music can actually help you in all 3 areas – Body, Mind and Spirit.

Depending on the type of music you listen to, it can benefit you in many ways.

Music can help you to relax and take away stress. It can pump you up and help you to get motivated. It is great for motivation while exercising.

It can put you in the mood to be creative or in the mood to go out dancing, and it can be very helpful for concentration providing it is low, soft background music.

It is also great for meditation.

Another of my favorite ways of using music is for visualization.

If you listen to positive, uplifting music, and you are feeling upbeat and in a great mood, this is the perfect time to visualize your soon to be accomplished goals.

Picture yourself looking and feeling happy, fulfilled, successful, accomplished and proud.

Music is very beneficial in assisting a person to get into the “ultimate mindset” for visualization. If you do this for even 10 minutes a day, I guarantee you will start seeing positive results in your life.

Prior to Christmas 2017, I had a very old antenna radio. On Christmas, I was given an Echo Show by my older son, and his girlfriend, and I was given an Echo by my younger son. They hadn’t discussed beforehand what they were giving me, but I am so glad because I enjoy both devices so much!

The Echo Show is in my living room. When I have friends and family over, I can have instantaneous music from any genre I select.

You do not need to order “Amazon Unlimited Music” for the Echo Show or the Echo to work, but if you want unlimited selections, and any choice of music that you could possibly think of, then there is a monthly charge. (I won’t quote the charge here in case it changes in the future, but it is not expensive.)

On New Year’s Eve I had several friends over, and we had a blast with it. We were Googling songs, and asking “Alexa” to play them. It was so much fun! And it was really neat to hear a lot of old songs that we hadn’t heard in years.

I spend a lot of time in my room in the evenings, and I use the Echo just as much especially for background music while studying, reading or writing.

I don’t know what I ever did without these devices because I love listening to music, but I wasn’t listening to it as much because it wasn’t convenient.

I enjoy these devices so much that my sister and I split the cost to buy an Echo for my mother for her birthday. She loves it! I often visit my mother in the evenings, and she’ll be listening polka music or music from the 1950’s. She’s very excited to be able to hear music from her childhood and teenage years.

If you have the chance to get one of this amazing devices, or receive  one of them as a gift, you won’t be disappointed. Adding more music into my life has definitely increased my feelings of well-being, and I am sure it will do the same for you.
